Scholarly is available for both Drupal 7 and Drupal 8. Given the entirely different codebase of each version, the documentation for each version is, likewise, separate.

The Documentation & User Guide for Scholarly D8 provides comprehensive instructions for using Scholarly on Drupal 8.
