Disclaimer:
The code for the reading progress (%) is in the template file of the special Content Type named “post”, and therefore it requires some technical expertise to isolate and reuse it. It is therefore not recommended to attempt doing so on a production site unless the relevant expertise is available.
Solution:
The easiest way to proceed is by
1. cloning the node--mt_post.html.twig file and
2. replacing the mt_post with the machine name of the new content type, e.g.: node--machine_name_of_new_content_type.html.twig. This enables you to have the same layout and functionality in your new content type.
